ROBERT J. TORRA – CEO & Founder

Bob founded Torra & Company Management Consultants in 2010 to provide a trusted advisory focusing on small business needs. Utilizing years of commercial bank experience, his consulting firm provides strategic banking and financial services to small businesses and their professionals.  Bob is a leader working closely with Managing Partners of law and accounting firms as well as CEOs and CFOs.  This includes attorneys, CPAs, their clients, and healthcare practitioners.  His company assists clients in evaluating and prioritizing the operational and financial decisions needed to grow and succeed in a demanding marketplace.  The team works with small businesses that have yearly sales volume in the $1 million – $50 million range.  Some of the services we provide include: Debt/Equity Strategies and Solutions Review wherein we analyze the total financial and operational needs of your business.

With over thirty years of commercial banking and corporate finance experience, Bob provides leadership, team building, strategic planning, and problem solving by working with businesses to accomplish their goals. The positions that he has held have included  those at Divisional, Regional and Area Management level.  Professional experience in the banking sector included Citibank, Fairfield County Bank and Provident Bank.

He also earned the distinction of multiple “Citistar” awards given for outstanding performance. The recipients earning this award are from the top 10% nationally among his peers at Citibank nationally.  At Fairfield County Bank, Bob served as Director of Professional banking and Area Team Product Leader.  He created and developed the Professionals Program for CPAs, Attorneys and Physicians. The program established a product platform and exclusivity directed at these target market professionals and garnered a very profitable portfolio of client accounts.

Additionally as a Senior Advisor at two corporate finance boutiques, he worked with small businesses and CPA firms in the development and implementation of financial strategies.  He provides management, banking and financial services that included debt and equity financing direction as well as strategic planning.

BARBARA N. VERRILLI – PARTNER

Barbara is experienced with managing small businesses. Having spent fifteen years managing Presentations, a catalog production company, she performed all the operational, financial and client based work for the business while the owner traveled extensively sourcing products for various catalogs. After Presentations, she founded her own catalog company “SendSations”. The catalog specialized in canine products including educational, training and gift items.

As a clinician, Barbara developed programs for multidisciplinary cases in speech, audiology and psychology.  Patients benefited from her ability to identify issues, problem solve and be creative with therapeutic approaches.  Additionally, she established an audiology testing program for workers in conjunction with Con Edison and OSHA.

Her early and successful participation in competitive dog sports evolved into a dog coaching business.  Barbara worked with high level dog agility handlers competing in the AKC (American Kennel Club), USDAA (United States Dog Agility Association) and NADAC (North American Dog Agility Council). The goal to attain success in Advanced and Masters competition was achieved with a multi-pronged approach. This included individualized team training, compensating for weakness and accentuating strengths of the team, diagnosing problems, and providing alternative solutions to handling strategies. In addition to coaching, she created curricula for other instructors and dog clubs, did video analysis for competition handlers and instructors, and was a top competitor with her own dog by achieving more than fifty titles.

Barbara works with individuals as a problem solver, diagnostician and organizer. She partners with CPAs as well as other financial and medical professionals to make a cohesive team to service clients’ needs.  Barbara has two Masters’ Degrees in Psychology and Business from New York University.
